What to expect in a first session?

Starting therapy can feel hopeful, uncertain—or even a little weird. All of that is okay.

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. You’re welcome to share what brings you to therapy, what you’d like to explore or change, and anything you feel is important for me to know.

I’ll also ask you a few questions—about your background, any relevant diagnoses, and some biographical details—so I can better understand your life context and support you more fully.

We’ll talk about how I work and what therapy might look like for you. There’s no pressure to open up more than you feel ready for—this is a space where we move at your pace. The first session is also a chance for you to see if the way I work feels like a good fit for you. You’re welcome to ask questions, share concerns, or simply get a sense of what it’s like to be in the room together.

Whether you’re feeling clear about what you need or just know that something isn’t quite right, you are welcome as you are <3
